Victor Valdes has insisted he will give “everything” to Standard Liege following his loan move from Manchester United.
Valdes completed his move to Standard last week and he will spend the rest of the campaign at the Belgian side.
Standard have recovered from a poor start to the season and are currently seventh in the Belgian Jupiler League table. The top six teams will play off for the title at the end of the campaign and Valdes insisted he wants to bring success back to Standard.
“I want to give everything physically, tactically and technically,” Valdes said.
“I think that Standard have fantastic supporters. From the first to the last minute they create an atmosphere like I’ve never seen before. It helps the players a lot.”
Valdes’ time at Man United was a resounding failure as the former Barcelona keeper only made two first team appearances at the club.
It is good that his spell at United has come to an end and that he will be able to get regular minutes on the pitch at Standard. Valdes has enjoyed far too good of a career for it to fizzle out in meek fashion.
