Nemanja Vidic has announced his retirement from football today.
The former Manchester United captain has decided to hang up his boots after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract with Inter Milan.
In a statement on ManUtd.com, Vidic said: “The time has come for me to hang up my boots,” said Vidic. “The injuries I have had in the last few years have taken their toll.
“I would like to thank all the players I have played with, all the managers and staff I have worked with, and say a big ‘thank you’ to the fans for their support over the years.”
Thank you Nemanja for all the countless memories you gave us. He might have left the club in a hurry under David Moyes but it doesn’t take away from the fact he’s a proper club legend.
Enjoy retirement Vidic, we won’t forget what you did for the club!
