Daley Blind pleased with convincing Manchester United victory against Stoke

Daley Blind has expressed his delight following Manchester United’s resounding 3-0 win over Stoke City on Tuesday.

Louis van Gaal‘s side, looking to sustain the attacking prowess they showed against Derby County last Friday, produced an emphatic display to see off Mark Hughes’ side.

Wonderful goals from Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney saw the home side score three goals at home for the first time since September. Blind took to Twitter after the game to express his satisfaction with the performance.

The 25-year-old, having featured in the Boxing Day nightmare at the Britannia Stadium, would have been determined to produce a compact display against Stoke.

And the Dutchman produced the right response after what was a woeful display back in December. Alongside the ever-reliable Chris Smalling, Blind – who is certainly below the average size for a top flight centre-back – looked in control all game against the tall Peter Crouch.

The partnership of Blind and Smalling has shown signs of promise this season, and a continued spell together will definitely help cement their relationship further.
