Everton defender John Stones would prefer a move to Manchester United or Manchester City if he leaves Goodison Park, according to The Times.
Stones, widely regarded to be one of the most promising centre-backs in the Premier League, is said to be on the radar of Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, City and Man United.
However, the Barnsley-born starlet is reportedly keen on staying in the northwest in order to stay close to his family, who are based in Yorkshire.
That would put the two Manchester clubs at the forefront of Stones’ thinking if he does move on at the end of the campaign.
Stones is a wonderful talent and his signing would be a major coup for United if they were to pull it off.
The 21-year-old is likely to form a defensive partnership with Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling for England for years to come and it would be good if they could continue that at club level too. However, if Stones becomes available, he will have a number of clubs fighting for his signature.
