Manchester United’s potential XI vs Chelsea: Unchanged after impressive Stoke City display

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United produced arguably one of their best displays of the season in the 3-0 win against Stoke City last time out and Louis van Gaal will be keen to avoid changing things too much for the trip to Chelsea on Sunday.

Anthony Martial was at his brilliant best, Juan Mata pulled the strings in the No.10 position and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson continued to impress at left-back.

It will likely mean that van Gaal names an unchanged XI against Chelsea, although he may give some thought to replacing Marouane Fellaini with Morgan Schneiderlin:

Goals from Jesse Lingard, Martial and Wayne Rooney wrapped up a convincing win against Stoke and United were superb throughout.

It was clear that van Gaal released the shackles from his players and it paid dividends.

Chelsea will provide a tough test at Stamford Bridge but there is no reason why United shouldn’t go there full of confidence. It will be interesting to see how van Gaal approaches the clash.
