Adnan Januzaj and Guillermo Varela taken off with injury for Man United U21s

Louis van Gaal has some more injury concerns to deal with after Adnan Januzaj and Guillermo Varela were both taken off with injuries playing for Manchester United U21s.

Januzaj suffered what looked like a knock to the knee and carried on afterwards but pulled up twice before eventually sitting down to signal he had to come off.

Varela was caught on the right ankle with a rough challenge and had to come off straight away which leaves Man United with some fresh injury concerns.

Both players have featured for the first-team this year, Varela far more recently after a few appearances at right-back before Matteo Darmian returned from injury, but now they could be set for a spell on the sidelines.

Varela’s potential injury is probably the more concerning one because he and Darmian are our only right-back choices and the Italian has only just returned from injury himself.

We’ll bring you an update on their condition when we have one but here’s hoping their withdrawal’s were more of a precaution than anything else.
