Manchester United fans have mixed opinions on Donald Love’s performance against Sunderland

by Ben Topliss

Donald Love came off the bench for Manchester United against Sunderland to make his competitive debut for the senior side.

The 21-year-old replaced Matteo Darmian at right-back but unlike Cameron Borthwick-Jackson who wasn’t phased by the occasion on his own debut, Love struggled.

There were some good moments which were pointed out but overall he would have wanted to perform a bit better given that it was his first opportunity on the big stage.

By the sounds of it, Love will be getting plenty more opportunities with the first-team as Matteo Darmian has dislocated his shoulder and will be out of action for nearly two months.

As Guillermo Varela and Antonio Valencia are already injured, Love is now our only natural right-back so I expect to see him earn his full debut soon enough.
