Neymar has confirmed that contract talks with Barcelona are underway despite Manchester United interest.
The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford and the Brazilian’s father recently revealed that Man United made a €190m offer for the forward last summer.
He suggested life at the Camp Nou is relaxed and that he is optimistic an agreement will be reached.
Talking to Sport he said: “The renewal [talks] are under way.
“I still have three years left on my contract and I am relaxed. I’m optimistic we will reach an agreement.”
Personally, I’m sick of being linked with players like Neymar, Cristiano Ronaldo and Thomas Muller. Players who are integral members of the best clubs in the world, their pin-up stars, because ultimately we’ve been left empty handed on so many occasions over the last couple of years.
We’ve got the money to buy pretty much any player in the world financially but having money is one thing, a player wanting a move is something different altogether.
Why would Neymar want to leave Barcelona and break up the world’s best attacking trio alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez? He wouldn’t, and we should focus on players who have a desire to call Old Trafford home.
We all know how it goes – player linked with United, player signs a contract extension and I fully expect Neymar to do the same at Barcelona.
