Man United have been rocked by the news of a knee ligament injury to Wayne Rooney. He was just getting into some sort of form and his absence makes an already difficult job for Louis van Gaal that much harder.

Owen Hargreaves has urged Manchester United to complete the signature of Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches. The Portuguese international has a release clause in excess of £60m but Rui Vitória would allegedly be willing to accept a bid in excess of £47m (60m euros).

Gary Mabbutt strongly believes Mauricio Pochettino will reject any approach Man United make for him this season. The former Tottenham Hotspur captain believes it doesn’t matter if teams like United, Chelsea or Arsenal came calling.

Man United are amongst 13 clubs who are looking to secure the services of Laurent Depoitre this summer, according to reports. Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City have all sent scouts to watch the Belgian side’s game against Wolfsburg in the Champions League.

Lastly, Wayne Rooney insists Man United’s players have gotten off lightly whilst criticism has been directed at Louis van Gaal this season. The English captain insists the manager isn’t entirely to blame for Man United’s disappointing showings.
