Manchester United fans got a chance to see Renato Sanches in UEFA Champions League action tonight against Zenit St. Petersburg.
The 18-year-old played the full 90 minutes in the heart of central midfield and for a player who is still a teenager, he looked supremely comfortable.
Rumours linking Sanches with Man United have been intense this season and judging from his performance against Zenit, it’s not hard to see why:
Renato Sanches is 18, what a monster in the midfield he is

Jonas finally scores a big goal in a huge game. Another decent display by Renato Sanches.

"He's gonna be a super player!" Hargreaves says Renato Sanches will become one of the hottest prospects in Europe. http://t.co/uMtZyYbssy

Renato Sanches will be a good place to start for #MUFC summer spending. Griezmann next. Then a CB and number 9. Will be expensive to improve

That being said, not everyone had glowing praise for Sanches…
Renato Sanches looks completely ordinary to me. I'd rather have Nicolas Gaitán (who has been decent tonight)

I think the signing of Anthony Martial in the summer set a bit of a dangerous precedent in terms of how much teenagers can be signed but at the same time it also showed how younger players can be ready at an earlier age for football at the highest level.
Will Sanches follow in Martial’s footsteps to Old Trafford?
