Jose Mourinho to meet with Inter Milan co-owner Massimo Moratti – report

Jose Mourinho will meet with Inter Milan co-owner Massimo Moratti this weekend as he plots a return to management, according to the Sunday Times’ Duncan Castles.

Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for Mourinho amid uncertainty over Louis van Gaal’s position at the club but they are yet to secure him to a pre-contract agreement or offer him any verbal guarantees.

Mourinho led Inter to a Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia treble in 2010 and Moratti is keen to bring the Portuguese back to the San Siro.

Real Madrid and Roma have both registered their interest in Mourinho since his sacking from Chelsea earlier this term but he has knocked back their advances.

The 53-year-old wants to stay in the Premier League for both personal and professional reasons but United are yet to make their move for him.

Thursday’s loss against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League has left confidence in van Gaal at an all-time low and you get the sense that letting Mourinho go elsewhere would be disastrous for the club. They must act now if they are to get back to where they belong.
