Manchester United recall Dean Henderson following injuries to David de Gea and Sam Johnstone

Manchester United have recalled goalkeeper Dean Henderson to the club following injuries to David de Gea and Sam Johnstone.

Henderson, who turns 19 next month, was on loan with Stockport County but Louis van Gaal has brought him back to Man United in order to boost his options as Joel Castro Pereira, who is already at the club, is cup tied for Monday night’s FA Cup game against Shrewsbury.

Injuries really have plagued United’s season in every position and De Gea’s injury followed the news that Wayne Rooney has been ruled out for up to two months with knee ligament damage.

I can’t imagine Henderson will be playing for the first team any time soon but then again I didn’t expect to see Sergio Romero between the sticks again this season, so anything can happen.

The good news on De Gea is that his injury isn’t believed to be serious and it sounds like there is a chance he could be back before the Arsenal game next weekend.
