Manchester United to face West Ham in FA Cup quarter-final with win over Shrewsbury Town

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United will face West Ham at Old Trafford in the FA Cup quarter-final if we beat Shrewsbury Town on Monday night.

On paper it is a good draw when you consider we could have potentially faced Arsenal or Chelsea away from home but West Ham’s 5-1 demolition of Blackburn Rovers shows they are not a team to be taking lightly.

However, United are not in the draw just yet and have to make sure we beat Shrewsbury on Monday. Usually we would head into a tie like this full of confidence but after the defeat to FC Midtjylland, fans are wary of an upset regardless of how unlikely it is.

Here are the other ties for the FA Cup quarter-final:

Reading vs Crystal Palace
Everton vs Chelsea
Arsenal/Hull vs Watford
Manchester United/Shrewsbury vs West Ham

The fixture will take place between 11-14 March.
