Manchester United’s Strongest XI vs Shrewsbury Town

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United’s game against Shrewsbury Town has taken on increased significance thanks to our 2-1 loss to FC Midtjylland and I can see Louis van Gaal playing a strong team.

We might have FC Midtjylland coming back to Old Trafford on Thursday but the FA Cup is extremely important as it is our best chance of silverware this season.

With that in mind, here’s the strongest XI van Gaal could put out against Shrewsbury which should (key word should) be more than enough to sweep aside Shrewsbury.

The major changes in this team see Cameron Borthwick-Jackson return and Memphis Depay move up front, allowing Anthony Martial back out on the left.

I think that might suit both Martial and Memphis better right now. Memphis’ best performance came when he played centrally against Watford and we all know how goo Martial has been playing on the left wing, so that might be a win-win situation.

Let us know in the comments below what you think about this XI and whether you think van Gaal would play such a strong team.
