Manchester United have negotiated a gentleman’s agreement with SL Benfica for the transfer of Renato Sanches, reports Record in Portugal.
Speaking about the 18-year-old, Record say no transfer fee has been decided as of yet but mention the €40m up-front price plus €20m add-ons which we have covered on The Peoples Person previously.
Sanches, 18, has been the talk of the town this season after his rise to prominence in Benfica’s side who are three points off the top of the table behind Sporting Lisbon and Record make it clear nothing should stop Renato joining Man United as early as next summer.
Jorge Mendes is Sanches’ agent which helps United with any move for him given our close working relationship with the super agent, and the fact we’re actively pursuing Jose Mourinho to replace Louis van Gaal this summer.
There’s plenty of clubs sniffing around Sanches after what has been an excellent breakthrough season with Benfica because not only has he done it in the Portuguese League but he looks just as comfortable in the UEFA Champions League and is set to be part of Portugal’s squad for Euro 2016.
Anthony Martial is one teenager who has made himself a household name straight away and if Record are correct, Sanches might be the next one to follow in his footsteps.
