Ander Herrera has praised Manchester United’s young players following the 5-1 win over FC Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday.

Man United have had to contend with a number of injuries as of late, meaning the likes of Marcus Rashford, Joe Riley and Guillermo Varela were brought into the side against Midtjylland.

The youngsters didn’t seem too fazed by the occasion, with Rashford scoring twice against Midtjylland in what was his senior debut for the club. Herrera was full of praise for them following the clash:

Good win! Nice to see players from the academy helping us and doing great?? ?

United have a long history of bringing talented youngsters through and playing attacking football and supporters saw both on Thursday.

Louis van Gaal has taken his fair share of flak this term but his handling of young players has been a highlight of his reign.

With Anthony Martial looking likely to miss the clash against Arsenal this weekend, Rashford may once again be asked to lead the line at Old Trafford. The hope is that the momentum he has gained for himself will give him a boost against the Gunners.
