Manchester United fans happy with Anthony Martial despite loss against West Bromwich Albion

Anthony Martial can be pleased with his display against West Bromwich Albion on Sunday despite Manchester United’s 1-0 loss at The Hawthorns.

Martial moved up top following Juan Mata’s early dismissal and the Frenchman was a constant thorn in West Brom’s side.

He was Man United’s most dangerous player but being a man down meant Martial was often isolated when he did get the ball. United supporters praised Martial but expressed their frustration at the lack of help he received:

This will undoubtedly be a season to forget for United supporters but the performances of Martial have given cause for optimism.

However, it is difficult to look past the result against West Brom, with United’s ambitions of finishing in the top four of the Premier League given a setback.

United take on Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday and the competition looks like the only way that van Gaal’s side will secure Champions League football next season, although winning it will be a tall order.
