Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Louis van Gaal expects Luke Shaw to return to training next month and could make a first-team return by the end of the season, reports The Telegraph. The 20-year-old has been out of action since suffering a horror double leg break away at PSV Eindhoven but his rehabilitation has so far gone to plan which means a place in England’s Euro 2016 squad is a distinct possibility.

Former Man United striker Louis Saha believes Anthony Martial can emulate Cristiano Ronaldo’s achievements at Old Trafford. Man United raised eyebrows when they paid an initial £36m for Martial last summer but the Frenchman has endeared himself to fans by scoring 10 goals in all competitions so far this season. Saha believes he has what it takes to match Ronaldo.

Manchester Evening News are reporting that Jose Mourinho is confident of becoming Man United manager next season despite boardroom confidence in Ryan Giggs. The Portuguese boss is confident despite possible public employment tribunal involving Eva Carneiro, who has a personal legal action against him for alleged victimisation and discrimination.

Wayne Rooney is back in light training and is hopeful of returning to full fitness by the end of the month. The 30-year-old was recently granted permission by Louis van Gaal to enjoy a warm weather break in Dubai and Rooney is now no longer wearing a protective brace on his knee.
