Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger named in Germany squad for friendlies

Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger has been named in Germany’s squad for their upcoming friendlies against England and Italy.

Schweinsteiger recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to injury.

The veteran midfielder has completed a number of cameos from the substitute’s bench in recent weeks and Germany seem to be satisfied that he is back to full fitness.

Schweinsteiger’s cameos have seen him inject a huge amount of quality in the middle of the park for Man United, something that has been lacking far too often this term.

Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini have both disappointed in midfield and Schweinsteiger represents a significant upgrade on them.

Unfortunately for Schweinsteiger, he has been injured too often to make a real impact at Old Trafford. He will be hoping to get past Germany’s friendlies unscathed before finishing the season strongly with United.
