Manchester United’s David de Gea seemed to be in confident mood ahead of Spain’s friendly against Italy this evening.
De Gea is competing with Porto’s Iker Casillas and Sevilla’s Sergio Rico for a place in the national side.
The 25-year-old has been in sensational form for Man United for a number of months now but Spain boss Vincent Del Bosque has often preferred Casillas in-between the sticks in recent years. De Gea will be hoping that is about to change ahead of the European Championships this summer:

De Gea is widely regarded to be one of the finest goalkeepers in the world alongside Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer and rightly so.
In what has been a season to forget for United, De Gea has consistently delivered world-class performances.
Were it not for his efforts this term, the current situation would be a lot worse for Louis van Gaal’s side and he will be in the running for Player of the Season come the end of the campaign.
