Manchester United’s Memphis Depay enjoyed an encouraging display in the Netherlands’ 3-2 friendly defeat against France on Friday, registering two assists at the Amsterdam Arena.

Memphis, who replaced Jordy Clasie at half time with his side 2-0 down, set up Luuk de Jong before putting in the corner which Ibrahim Afellay fired home.

However, he could do nothing to stop clubmate Anthony Martial setting up Blaise Matuidi for a late winner. Man United fans were impressed with what they saw from Memphis:

Memphis has been in and out of the side at Old Trafford this season having failed to recapture the form that once made him one of the most revered young players in the world at PSV Eindhoven.

It is clear for all to see that the youngster has talent, he just needs to show it on a more consistent basis.

When Memphis has turned it on this term, he has undoubtedly got supporters off their seats. That being said, he needs to produce on the pitch more regularly as patience may wear thin with him.
