Luke Shaw is expected to return to training with Manchester United next week and really step up his rehabilitation from injury.
The Telegraph reports that Shaw will be back in training within the next seven to ten days and wants to play for Man United again before the end of this season.
Shaw has been out of action since September when he suffered a horrific double leg break away at PSV Eindhoven. Instead of a breakthrough season, he’s instead had to work hard on his with an intense rehabilitation program but him returning to training next week shows it’s hard work that’s paying off.
We’ve desperately missed Shaw and it would be a big morale boost for him to play again before the 2015/16 season is over but concern United fans would then question what that could mean in regards to Euro 2016.
If Shaw is back in action for a few matches before the Premier League season finishes, then Roy Hodgson will undoubtedly want to take him to France. Having spent the best part of a whole season out injured, that would be massively risky but certainly something Shaw would mentally want to do.
We’ll think about that crossroad when he get to it but for the time being, the mere fact Shaw is effectively ready to return to training is great news.
