Zlatan Ibrahimovic hints that he could retire next season despite interest in his signature

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has suggested that he could retire at the end of the season if he does not receive a suitable offer following his exit from Paris Saint-Germain.

Ibrahimovic’s contract at PSG expires in the summer and he recently confirmed that he will definitely leave the French club.

The Swede is said to be the subject of interest from clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal but he hinted that he could just retire altogether.

“Maybe I’ll just retire. Nobody’s thought of that possibility,” Ibrahimovic said.

“I would prefer to go out at the top. Anything could happen next summer. When all the cards are on the table, I’ll see which direction I want to take.”

Ibrahimovic’s comments are cryptic and they perhaps raise the possibility that he is, in fact, angling for a new deal at PSG.

The speculation will rage on but the fact is that United should seriously consider signing the forward if he is available. While entering the twilight of his career, Ibrahimovic would add a considerable presence and depth to United’s attack.
