Guillem Balague: Jose Mourinho’s representatives say Man United deal is done

by Tanveer Arayan

Guillem Balague has thrown extra fuel on the Jose Mourinho to Manchester United fire after claiming his representatives have said the deal is already done.

Mourinho has long been touted as a potential successor to Louis van Gaal with the Dutchman’s future at Man United extremely uncertain after a disappointing campaign in his second year in charge.

While Mourinho and United have chosen to remain silent with regards to these rumours, in contrast to the Pep Guardiola stories which were quashed quickly, the reports have continued to grow with suggestions going as far as to say a pre-contract agreement had already been signed weeks ago.

Could the deal already be done? That’s certainly what Balague is saying:

However, the last point is what will concern United fans the most because this week there have been multiple reports from Holland saying Louis van Gaal has been given assurances over his job and wants to stay. United certainly haven’t actively got involved in any rumours about van Gaal, Mourinho or even Ryan Giggs being manager next season, so the speculation has continued.

As Balague mentions, so many people in football consider Mourinho to United as the most likely move by the club. Gianluca di Marzio isn’t sitting on the fence with this having said on multiple occasions that it is a case of when and not if the announcement is made.

The speculation is starting to frustrate me given how long it is going on for while other clubs have renewed and replaced already but up until the club makes an official statement on it, we’ll just have to sit and wait for one.
