Jose Mourinho: I want to be at a place where I’m truly wanted

by Sam Peoples

Jose Mourinho has been discussing his future once again and has said he’ll join a club where he is truly wanted.

Having previously ruled out a return to any former club, Mourinho also dismissed the notion he could return to his native country Portugal to become Estoril or Pacos de Ferreira manager, two clubs who are in the Portuguese top division Primera Liga.

Everything continues to point towards Mourinho replacing Louis van Gaal and he can ‘almost guarantee’ he’ll be in a new job this summer.

Speaking about his future, Mourinho said: “I can almost guarantee you that I’ll be back working this summer. I’ve good offers on the table.

“One thing is certain, my future won’t be at Estoril or Paços, because they won’t change manager.

“At the end of the season we’ll know where my future lies. I want to be at a place where I’m truly wanted.”

It feels like we are putting together pieces of a puzzle, one slow segment at a time, with Mourinho drip feeding hints and clues towards where he’ll be next season. At the same time, Man United are dithering with their own decisions as well and maybe Mourinho is simply buying some more time.

With United refusing to comment on any Mourinho rumours and the man himself happy to continue dropping subtle hints, United fans are left to do nothing but wait for something concrete and official. That being said, it doesn’t stop the excitement building does it?
