Manchester United sent scouts to watch young midfielder Renato Sanches in action for Benfica in their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday. Representatives from Arsenal were also in attendance as the 18-year-old played for 90 minutes against Bayern.

Wolfsburg defender Naldo has revealed he is “honoured” by rumoured interest from Man United but insisted that he is happy working under Dieter Hecking. The centre-back made the claims after reports in Kicker suggested that Man United were keeping tabs on him.

Jesse Lingard believes Marcus Rashford will only improve following his excellent start to his Old Trafford career. The 18-year-old scored a superb solo effort in the 2-1 win over West Ham United on Wednesday, taking his tally up to six goals since his debut for Man United in February.

Manchester United are prepared to appoint Ryan Giggs as Louis van Gaal’s successor this summer, according to Spanish outlet Marca. The Welshman has long been labelled as the next manager and Marca claims the Glazer family have already taken steps towards promoting him from his current post as assistant manager.
