Jose Mourinho tells friends he’s heading to Manchester United – report

by Tanveer Arayan

Jose Mourinho has allegedly told friends he will be heading to Manchester United next season and is lining up a move for Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain, reports suggest.

Louis van Gaal is expected to leave Man United at the end of the season, regardless of whether we finish inside the top four and win the FA Cup, and and ever since Mourinho left Chelsea he’s been linked to United.

The Sunday People’s latest story about Mourinho is not the first time we’ve seen outlets say Jose has already told friends that he’s going to replace van Gaal but Higuain’s name isn’t one that’s been mentioned much.

Higuain has certainly been in spectacular form for Maurizio Sarri’s side this season having scored 32 goals for the Serie A side in all competitions and regardless of whether van Gaal stays or goes, we’ve been pretty woeful when it comes to goals having only scored 40 goals in 33 Premier League games.

What should we make of these Higuain reports? Stories like this happen every year with United when it comes to transfer gossip and the 28-year-old’s name is probably just getting thrown around like so many others will be as well. It’s the Mourinho reports which you can’t ignore any more and with every passing week, the story continues to develop.
