Manchester United to make Jose Mourinho announcement within two weeks – report

by Ben Topliss

Manchester United will announce Jose Mourinho as their new manager within the next two weeks after the Portuguese signed a deal to replace Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, according to the Express.

Mourinho, who was sacked by Chelsea earlier this term, has been strongly linked with a move to Man United for a number of months. Reports in Portugal last week claimed that Mourinho has already signed a deal at United and the club have brought forward their plans to make an official announcement as a result.

Today, Sam Pilger has come out to say Mourinho will take over next month as well which coincides with reports from the Express in an ever-growing whirlwind of speculation surrounding Mourinho and the United job.

Further to that, Mourinho recently rejected an approach from Paris Saint-Germain and is said to be working on transfers at United ahead of the next campaign.

If true, the news would come as a relief to supporters, despite the fact that United are in the FA Cup final and fighting for a place in the top four.

Van Gaal has overseen some disastrous results and performances over the course of the campaign and it is clear he is not the right man to take the club forward.
