Rashford put in an excellent shift up top at Wembley, while Martial scored a last-gasp winning goal as Man United booked their spot in the final with a 2-1 win. Their performances were scintillating in United’s biggest of the game of the season so far, so they certainly deserve all the praise they get.
Speaking about the duo, Smalling praised the duo and what they have offered to the side in recent weeks.
“Now, I think the world’s their oyster if they can stay fit and keep playing together,” Smalling said.
“I think you can see the Everton defenders were really scared to get tight with them, because they’ve got that ability in behind them and it’s great to have that attacking edge to our game.”
Martial has proven time and time again this season that he is a supreme talent and Rashford is now catching up to the Frenchman in terms of his overall game. With such promise, they could yet prove to be a great partnership for United.
Rashford scored important goals at important times early on in his brief United career but he sometimes went missing in-between. In recent weeks, he has put in excellent all-round performances and it is hugely encouraging to see.
