Manchester United to be away team in FA Cup final against Crystal Palace

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United have been chosen as the away team against Crystal Palace for the 2016 FA Cup final at Wembley.

That means Man United are likely to be wearing their white kit for the final rather than our traditional red. The last time United didn’t wear red in an FA Cup final was 2004/5 when we wore black in the defeat against Arsenal on penalties.

Our fans will occupy the East side of Wembley and as we have that side, The Torch Pub (details and location here) will be the main pub for United fans on the day.

In the grand scheme of things, the colour of our strip is largely irrelevant and fans are simply looking forward to what could be a special day out in London.

There would be no better way than to end three seasons of frustration, disappointment and transition under David Moyes and Louis van Gaal than to lift a trophy which has eluded us for more than a decade. United have 28,000 official tickets for the game but far more than that are expected to make the trip down to Wembley and if we can end our FA Cup hoodoo, I can’t think of a better way for van Gaal to bow out as manager.
