Rio Ferdinand: Manchester United can’t let Leicester City win the title at Old Trafford

Rio Ferdinand has urged Manchester United not to let Leicester City win the Premier League title at Old Trafford this weekend.

Claudio Ranieri’s side travel to Manchester on Sunday knowing that three points would secure them a surprise league title.

However, Ferdinand, who won the league a number of times during his playing days at Man United, would not want to see Leicester triumphant at The Theatre of Dreams.

“Not at Old Trafford, we’re not having that,” Ferdinand said.

“It’s not a nice feeling when a team wins at your ground, but wherever they win it, they deserve it this year.

“They’ve been the best team, they’ve been strong and really, really good unit and I think you sense that they’ve got a really good team unit and a good spirit amongst them. The manager’s galvanised them.”

Leicester’s story is a remarkable one and they absolutely deserve to win the league.

The Foxes have often been written off over the course of the campaign but the fact is that they have been the best side in the division this term. But Ferdinand is right in saying that it would be disappointing to see them win it at Old Trafford, so often the scene of triumphs, but usually for the team in red!
