Indy Boonen and Ilias Moutha-Sebtaoui included in Belgium’s U17s European Championship squad

Manchester United duo Indy Boonen and Ilias Moutha-Sebtaoui have been included in Belgium’s squad for the U17 European Championships.

Boonen, who turned 17 this year, has been one of Man United’s U18s top scorers this with six goals and from a central midfield position. Only Marcus Rashford has scored more than him for the U18s, so his inclusion in the squad is unsurprising and he could play a central role for Belgium in the U17s Euros.

As for Moutha-Sebtaoui, he made his debut in goal for United’s U18s in December 2015 but has only gone on to make two starts, so he’s played relatively little football this season.

Belgium will face Scotland on 5 May in their group A opener and will go on to play Azerbaijan and Portugal on May 8 and 11 respectively.

Over the course of the season, United’s U18s have had an extremely mixed campaign. At one stage, we lost more than ten consecutive games before Paul McGuinness was replaced the U18s manager and we’ve since turned it around.

Hopefully both Boonen and Moutha-Sebtaoui can get some game time for Belgium in the U17s Euros.
