Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent says he could return to Italy next season

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola has claimed the Swedish striker could return to Milan next season.

The 34-year-old is out of contract at Paris Saint Germain this summer and has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United.

He has enjoyed a spectacular season with Laurent Blanc’s side having scored 42 goals across all competitions but a move could depend on whether Louis van Gaal keeps his job at Old Trafford next campaign as Sky Sports reported he would only consider a move if the Dutchman leaves.

Talking about a potential transfer, Raiola has hinted a move back to AC or Inter Milan could be on the cards.

“Ibrahimovic could return to Italy, to Milan,” he said.

While a return to Italy could remain a possibility, it’s obvious that Raiola is trying to start up a bidding war. He’s a smart agent and has done so on so many occasions beforehand, least not with Paul Pogba.

United fans have questioned whether he is the right man for us as he enters the latter stages of his career, but is a team struggling desperately for goals crying out for a marquee signing like Ibrahimovic? There are some who might argue he could be the club’s new van Persie. Although Marcus Rashford has impressed up front for United this season it’s clear we’re missing some real experienced quality with Wayne Rooney dropping into a deeper midfield role.

Ibrahimovic won’t work under van Gaal given what happened between them back at Ajax but with the Dutchman’s future in doubt as Jose Mourinho continues to be linked with the job, there is every chance the arrogant duo of Jose and Zlatan could provide the lift the club needs.
