Manchester United’s potential XI vs West Ham United: Marcus Rashford returns

by Ben Topliss

Marcus Rashford was rested for Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Norwich City on Saturday and he will be keen to return to the side for the clash against West Ham United on Tuesday.

Louis van Gaal left the 18-year-old out of the matchday squad at Carrow Road, which proved to be an oversight as Anthony Martial injured himself during the warm-up.

Man United sorely missed the pair against Norwich and they were lucky to scrape past the Canaries thanks to Juan Mata’s second-half strike. West Ham will provide a tough test at their last ever home game at Upton Park and Rashford’s inclusion should give United much more of a cutting edge:

Elsewhere, Daley Blind will be keen to return to the starting XI having also been rested.

Marcos Rojo was comfortable enough as he played at centre-back in Blind’s absence but the Argentine was lucky that Cameron Jerome didn’t capitalise on his missed header early on.

United kept themselves in the race for a top four finish in the Premier League with the win over Norwich but anything less than three points will not do against the Hammers.
