Ryan Giggs will leave Manchester United if Jose Mourinho is appointed manager ahead of him, according to reports.
The Sunday People claims the Welshman, who has spent the last three seasons as assistant manager under David Moyes and then van Gaal, will walk away from Old Trafford if they turn to Mourinho.
As a player at Man United, Giggs won a remarkable 25 trophies including 13 Barclays Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues, but he doesn’t have any experience as a manager just yet.
Gary Neville proved during a disappointing spell at Valencia that the life of a manager is difficult and I don’t think United can risk getting the appointment wrong for the third time which is why there is so much debate whether he would be a good replacement.
Mourinho is an extremely qualified boss with years of management under his belt. He has won silverware at every club he’s managed and could easily bring Man United back to their winning ways. The Portuguese manager has made it clear his preference is to remain in Premier League next season, but that may not be possible if United opt for Giggs.
It is a difficult situation for all parties involved but with the end of the season soon approaching, decisions need to be made soon.
