Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward set to face a grilling from investors – report

Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is expected to face a grilling from investors on Friday when he delivers the club’s third quarter results, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Woodward will make the presentation in a conference call before investors will be given the chance to take part in a question and answer session with the Man United chief.

The questions will come at a time when Louis van Gaal is under more pressure than ever following the 3-2 defeat against West Ham United last time out.

The result meant that United must beat Bournemouth on the final day while hoping Manchester City lose to Swansea City if they are to secure Champions League qualification.

Jose Mourinho is said to be waiting in the wings to take over at Old Trafford in the event of van Gaal’s exit.

United do have an FA Cup final to look forward to but van Gaal’s position at the club should be scrutinised even if he does win the competition. After spending upwards of £250m since taking charge, questions should rightly be asked of van Gaal and why United have struggled for the majority of the campaign.
