Manchester United’s Potential XI vs Bournemouth: Daley Blind dropped

by Ben Topliss

Daley Blind suffered arguably his worst performance of the season in Manchester United’s 3-2 loss against West Ham United last time out and Louis van Gaal may be thinking about dropping him for the final Premier League game of the season against Bournemouth this weekend.

Blind was at fault for practically all of West Ham’s goals and he somehow managed to play Andy Carroll onside early on for a big chance. Fortunately for the Dutchman, David de Gea saved Carroll’s tame effort.

Van Gaal may decide it is best to take Blind out of the limelight, although he is hardly blessed with a wealth of viable alternatives. Marcos Rojo would be the obvious choice but he hasn’t been in great form himself:

Such a move would allow Cameron Borthwick-Jackson to come in. The youngster has looked composed and solid whenever he has been on the pitch, which cannot be said for the majority of his teammates.

Ander Herrera, too, may face the chop after going through a similarly nightmarish performance against the Hammers. The Spaniard has a cult following at United but he was poor in midfield at Upton Park.
