Paris Saint-Germain contact representatives of Anthony Martial – report

Paris Saint-Germain have contacted representatives of Manchester United striker Anthony Martial about a potential summer transfer, according to L’Equipe.

The French newspaper claim the Ligue 1 champions are looking for a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic who this week confirmed he’d be leaving the club at the end of the season.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a spectacular debut season in the Premier League, scoring 17 goals for United to establish himself as one of the best young players in Europe, so his stock has rapidly risen.

Martial is apparently set to be lured away from Old Trafford by the guarantee of Champions League football and a return to France, though United will have absolutely no intention of letting them go.

United still have a chance to reach the Champions League, but their loss to West Ham was a massive blow in their hopes of a top four finish. Martial was incredible throughout the game and almost managed to carry the rest of the team over the line by scoring both goals for United but was let down by the performances of his teammates.

The youngster has established himself as one of the best attackers in the Premier League since his big-money move from Monaco last year and deserves all the credit that is coming his way as he also recently earned his call up to the French squad for the Euros this summer.

PSG can try as they might to try and sign Martial but we’re going to be building a team around him moving forward, so they won’t be taking him to Paris any time soon.
