Tahith Chong scored the winner for Netherlands in their crucial 1-0 win over Sweden in the U17s European Championships this May.
The 16-year-old reacted smartly to turn home a loose ball inside Sweden’s box and Netherlands held on for the win.
Netherlands dominated the game with 80% possession but it was Chong’s all important goal which made the difference.

Chong was banned for Netherlands’ first game at the U17s Euros but certainly made his mark in this game against Sweden and you’d expect him to have earned his place in the starting XI for their next game.
He has already all but confirmed his move to Manchester United so we’re keeping a close check on his progress at the U17s Euros and it’s good to see him make an impact like that from the right-wing.
Next up for Netherlands is a semi-final clash against Portugal on Wednesday. Hopefully we’ll be able to see another match winning contribution from Chong.
