Louis van Gaal: FA Cup final will be ‘an education’ for youngsters

Louis van Gaal believes Saturday’s FA Cup final against Crystal Palace will be “an education” for Manchester United’s younger players.

Man United are set to rely on the likes of Marcus Rashford, 18, Anthony Martial, 20, and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, 19, at Wembley as they look to overcome Palace.

Van Gaal claimed that the Cup showpiece will help the club’s youngsters in their development.

Players such as Rashford and Martial are in the team on merit and it would be fitting if they were to prove the difference at Wembley.

United have suffered plenty of disappointment this term but the performances of their youngsters have provided cause for optimism.

Van Gaal deserves criticism following this season and his position will be under threat after the final but he should be praised for the way he has placed faith in young players. The hope is that Rashford and Martial can get a goal or two against Palace.
