Players such as Rashford and Martial are in the team on merit and it would be fitting if they were to prove the difference at Wembley.
United have suffered plenty of disappointment this term but the performances of their youngsters have provided cause for optimism.
Van Gaal deserves criticism following this season and his position will be under threat after the final but he should be praised for the way he has placed faith in young players. The hope is that Rashford and Martial can get a goal or two against Palace.
