Man United fear over missing out on Aubameyang due to Van Gaal – report

Manchester United officials are fearful that the club may miss out on signing Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang due to the player’s concerns over Louis van Gaal, according to MailOnline.

Van Gaal has been heavily criticised for a dull style of football at Man United this season and there are concerns within the Old Trafford hierarchy that the Dutchman’s playing style will put off their top transfer targets.

The club will take van Gaal’s brand of football into account when they decide whether to let him go following Saturday’s FA Cup final against Crystal Palace.

Gabon international Aubameyang has enjoyed a remarkable season, scoring 40 goals in 46 appearances for club and country.

His capture would certainly give United an injection of quality up top but there is a sense that van Gaal doesn’t know how to get the best out of his attacking players.

The likes of Juan Mata, Memphis Depay and Ander Herrera have all regressed under van Gaal’s leadership and it is understandable why potential targets may be put off as a result. It is the latest in a long list of reasons why United should let go of the veteran coach in the summer.
