Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be a Manchester United player next season, according to De Telegraaf.
Ibrahimovic’s spell at Paris Saint-Germain came to an end recently and he has been weighing up offers from the MLS and China as he looks to make the next step in his career.
However, he is said to be keen on the possibility of reuniting with Jose Mourinho, who is widely expected to be announced as Louis van Gaal’s successor at Man United this week, at Old Trafford.
De Telegraaf also claim that Ibrahimovic may look to take up a coaching role at United at some point in the future.
Ibrahimovic, at 34, is entering the twilight of his career but he still scored a remarkable amount of goals at PSG last season.
He remains a world-class player and United would be wise to bring him in, particularly as he is a free agent.
The combination of Mourinho and Ibrahimovic should see a ‘fear factor’ return to United and the mood surrounding Old Trafford, decidedly doom and gloom under the reign of van Gaal, should become rather more optimistic if the moves did come off.
