Jose Mourinho to Manchester United: Reports say he’s signed a contract

by Sam Peoples

Manchester United fans have been waiting on Tuesday for updates on Jose Mourinho.

BBC Sport and multiple other outlets all said Man United officials met with Mourinho’s representatives and talks were under way.

Now, Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manha says Mourinho has signed a three-year contract with United but has no intention of bringing any signing any Portuguese players as the only one who interested him was Renato Sanches who has joined Bayern Munich.

The Mirror has separately said personal terms have now been agreed but indicate the complications behind the contract mean it needs more time to be resolved.

All in all, it’s just a matter of time isn’t it? Mourinho is United’s manager and we’re just waiting on the official announcement rather than considering whether he’ll be our next boss. The sooner it happens, the sooner we can move on and think about next season.

Even Rio Ferdinand is struggling to contain his excitement like the rest of us who are waiting in anticipation.

The buzz has been palpable ever since the news broke on Monday morning that Louis van Gaal was on his way out and it’s been a whirlwind 48 hours for the club after winning the FA Cup.

But that’s only going to increase in intensity after Mourinho is officially confirmed and if Correio da Manha are correct, we certainly won’t have to wait for much longer.
