Carlo Ancelotti believes that Jose Mourinho is a good fit for Manchester United.
Mourinho is widely expected to be named as Louis van Gaal’s successor at Man United this week after the latter was sacked on Monday.
There have been reservations about Mourinho’s off-field antics and his tendency to neglect youth but Ancelotti, who will take over from Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich next term, backed the Portuguese to succeed at Old Trafford.

“I think it’s a fantastic challenge for both because Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world,” Ancelotti said.
“He has a good experience of the Premier League and I think Manchester United needs this kind of manager.
“Also, van Gaal’s job was not bad because it’s not easy after Ferguson left and players like [Rio] Ferdinand, [Paul] Scholes and [Ryan] Giggs [leaving]. To rebuild a team, he did a good job but now the wedding of Mourinho and United could be good for both [parties].”
Mourinho has managed some of the biggest clubs in the world and won trophies at all of them.
He is a proven, world-class talent and he is absolutely the right fit for United in terms of their respective standing within the world game.
United have boasted massive financial gains off the pitch in recent years but it is about time that they competed on it. The team looked fragile under David Moyes and van Gaal but supporters can look forward to a winning mentality coming back to Old Trafford under the leadership of Mourinho.
