Jose Mourinho’s £10m deal with Manchester United has now been finalised and he is set to be announced as our new manager on Thursday.
As we explained on Wednesday, there were complications with Mourinho due to conflicting sponsorships between him and Man United as well as the issue of Chelsea owning image rights to his name.
However, after two days of negotiations between United’s lawyers and Mourinho’s representatives, everything looks to have been pushed over the line to enable an official announcement and confirmation.
His unveiling will end five months of speculation which all started intensely following United losing four consecutive games in December and for United fans will mark the beginning of what is surely set to be an extremely exciting period to be supporting the club.
Love him or hate him, Mourinho is a natural born winner. Losing isn’t in his nature and United have lost touch with that mentality over the last three years. Right now, there isn’t anybody better placed to help us recover that aura immediately.
Pep Guardiola and Manchester City might be an excellent match but so is United and Mourinho in the current circumstances. Next season is going to be a rollercoaster and I can’t wait to hear what Jose has to say in his first statement as United manager.
