Marcus Rashford has expressed his delight after signing a new contract at Manchester United.
Rashford, 18, signed his new deal on Monday following a remarkable rise to prominence during the 2015/16 season.
The youngster scored twice on his senior debut against FC Midtjylland in February and he hasn’t looked back since, scoring eight goals in 17 appearances in all competitions and playing a key role in Man United’s FA Cup victory.
“I am delighted to have signed a new contract,” Rashford said.
“I have always been a Manchester United fan, so to be playing in the first team really is a dream come true. I am grateful for having the chance to prove myself. To be able to play football at the biggest club in the world means everything to me and my family.”
Rashford’s fairytale really has been a remarkable one and it looks like it may be continuing into the summer as he is rumoured to be on the verge of being included in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the European Championships in France.
The striker has proven that he has it all: an excellent touch, intelligent movement and an eye for a pass. And the most remarkable thing is that his transition to first team football has not fazed him one bit.
United are rumoured to be interested in the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer but Jose Mourinho will find it hard to leave out Rashford on current form.
