Zlatan Ibrahimovic is widely considered one of the most likely players to join Jose Mourinho at Manchester United this summer but Portuguese A Bola think it’s more of a done deal than that.
This morning, A Bola have said it’s ‘guaranteed’ that Ibrahimovic will be following Mourinho to Old Trafford and work together just like they did back in 2008/9 at Inter Milan.
The latest updates we know on Ibrahimovic’s potential move to United came last week from a press conference where he was questioned directly about whether he’d received an offer from United. His response was telling; he grinned for ten seconds without saying anything and told reporters to wait and see. He’s more than happy for the speculation to continue and United are considered favourites to bring him in.
Separate reports indicate United are increasingly confident of signing Ibrahimovic and although his agent has poured cold water on the speculation in an attempt to maintain interest from other parties, all the fingers are continuing to point towards Ibrahimovic to United in much the same fashion as Mourinho before that was made official.
At this point it is not inevitable but Ibrahimovic, 34, is a perennial winner and having scored 50 goals last season is still more than capable of leading teams to titles. While the money in China will lure Zlatan, winning the Premier League is something which he’ll be desperate to do before he retires and maybe that will happen next year under Mourinho. You can dream eh?
