Jose Mourinho has added Ricardo Formosinho to his technical staff at Manchester United as his senior technical scout, according to Portuguese newspaper Record.
The report claims that Formosinho will help Mourinho with player recruitment at Old Trafford as well as tactical analysis of the opposition.
Formosinho has worked with Mourinho before – he coached with the Portuguese at FC Porto and was part of his scouting department at Real Madrid.
Mourinho seems to be kicking off his preparations for next season in earnest and United should benefit from Formosinho’s insight, particularly with player recruitment.
A number of transfers – Shinji Kagawa, Radamel Falcao and and Angel di Maria to name a few – have failed for United down the years and it is simply not good enough for a club of their stature.
Mourinho has reportedly drawn up a list of targets for United to pursue over the summer, with the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andre Gomes said to be on it. It should be an interesting summer in terms of incomings and outgoings at Old Trafford.
