England’s Best XI for Euro 2016: Who would you choose in yours?

by Sam Peoples

Who should start for England at Euro 2016? For once, it’s actually tough to decide.

Usually, England’s strength comes in defence but heading to France is a squad which has a wealth of options up front but relatively little going on at the back by comparison, and that makes it even harder to choose.

The team over at KitBag.com have made cracking tool by which you can choose your very own starting XI and here’s who I put in mine.

As much as I want to start Marcus Rashford, I think he’ll be better suited coming off the bench – at least for the first game. We shouldn’t be putting that much pressure on him.

With Wayne Rooney, I just don’t think there’s room for him in this team ahead of other players. No doubt Roy Hodgson will see it differently but I wouldn’t start him.

It’s with the wingers where I feel England are lacking but unless we play a 4-3-3 with Dier holding deep then we are going to need some width, which is why I went for James Milner and Adam Lallana. Far from the best wingers but we’re lacking in that department.

Do you agree with my XI or would you do a completely different one? You can build yours here via KitBag.com. Share a screenshot of your starting XI in the comments! Enjoy.
