Breel Embolo has decided to join Manchester United over RB Leipzig, according to Saxony based newspaper Leipziger Volkszeitung.
Embolo has risen to prominence in recent months with FC Basel and he is part of the Switzerland squad that will compete at Euro 2016.
The 19-year-old, who has scored 30 goals in 86 games for the Swiss champions since making his first-team debut in March 2014, has attracted interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool but Leipzig, backed by Red Bull, were believed to have commenced talks over a deal worth £15m for Embolo.
However, Leipzig have not pulled out of a deal as they believe that Man United and Jose Mourinho have won the race for Embolo’s signature. A move may be completed after the Euros.
Mourinho looks to be building a promising squad, with Eric Bailly, 22, completing a switch to Old Trafford this week.
Along with the likes of Anthony Martial, Memphis Depay, Luke Shaw and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, supporters can look forward to a bright future at United. Mourinho certainly seems to be dispelling the supposed notion that he isn’t interested in youth.
